Senior engineering partner for companies adopting AI

We take your proof-of-concept to a market-ready product, and beyond.

The demo convinced your team. Now it has to work every Monday morning. Quant Designs takes AI prototypes and back-office automations to production: tested, secured, deployed and documented. Then we hand it to your team, or run it for you.

How we work

One stack, mastered. One procedure, every time.

Speed comes from not reinventing anything. We ship on a stack we know cold, with coding agents doing the typing and a senior engineer owning every decision.

Senior review & SOPs
Weeks, not quarters
  1. 01

    Scope

A 30-minute call, then a written scope with a fixed budget, milestones and what "done" means. No surprises on the invoice.

  2. 02

    Build

On the stack we have perfected: TypeScript and Next.js up front, Python or Node services, Postgres underneath, Claude or Azure OpenAI where the reasoning lives.

  3. 03

    Harden

Tests at every layer, CI that blocks bad merges, monitoring with alerts, secrets handled properly. The part prototypes skip.

  4. 04

    Hand off or host

Your team gets a runbook, architecture notes and a walkthrough. Or we host it and keep it running for a monthly fee. Your call.

Prototype to production

Your prototype proved the idea. We make it production-ready.

We finish what you built instead of starting over.

What companies ask for

Back-office automation that sticks

The pattern is always the same: something comes in, AI does the reading or sorting, and the result lands in the system your team already uses. We build the whole pipeline, not just the AI call.

What comes in

What AI does

AI summarizesCalls and meeting notes → CRM updated

Where it lands

After the project

Two clean endings. You pick.

You have a tech team or a cloud

  • We deploy into your environment
  • Written handover: runbook, architecture, decisions
  • A walkthrough session with your engineers
  • Code so clean your team will ask us back

Services

Six ways companies bring us in

From a two-week sprint to a standing retainer. One senior rate, no junior substitution, and the same engineering standard on every engagement.

  1. 01

    Prototype to production

You built it with ChatGPT, Claude or a no-code tool and it works for you. We make it work for everyone: hardened, tested, deployed, and trusted by the people who depend on it.

  2. 02

    Back-office automation

Invoices, inboxes, CRM updates, weekly reports, internal Q&A. The systems that quietly consume staff hours, built properly and connected to the tools you already use.

  3. 03

    AI adoption roadmap

You know AI belongs in the plan and want a clear place to start. We map your workflows, pick the three that pay back fastest, and train your team to run them.

  4. 04

    Rescue a stalled AI project

The first attempt lost momentum, the vendor moved on, the pilot never became a product. We audit what exists, keep what works, and turn it into a result you can show the board.

  5. 05

    Senior developers, short notice

When a full-time hire is not the right move yet. Bring in a senior engineer for a sprint, a quarter, or a specific milestone, with no recruiter fee and no notice period.

  6. 06

Websites & digital assets for agencies

Design-forward sites, landing pages and client tools for agencies without in-house engineers. White-label if you prefer. Fast, beautiful, and measured.

Typical projects

What a scoped engagement looks like

Example scopes, not client case studies: the kinds of projects we take on and what they typically cost at our hourly rate. Your project gets a fixed quote after the first call.

  • Real-estate brokerage AI admin assistant for brokers. CRM updates, property data lookups and handbook Q&A from one chat. $13,500
  • Research institute AI assistant built for GDPR compliance that answers staff questions from the finance handbook, with sources. $16,900
  • Advisory firm AI checks Word reports for quality before they go out. Connected to SharePoint and Azure OpenAI. $17,700
  • Digital agency AI audits Google Ads accounts and ranks fixes by impact. Replaces the manual monthly audit. $22,500
  • Telecom company AI sorts technical documents and checks them against compliance codes before filing. $30,400

Budgets are quoted up front and billed against $200 / hr. Smaller fixes, audits and sprints start at a single day.

Philip Gehde

The founder

Philip Gehde

Founder & lead developer, Quant Designs

I have spent the last decade as the engineer companies call when there is no engineering department: scoping with the people who run finance and operations, building the systems that move their money and their paperwork, and then being the one accountable when they break. Payments platforms, ERP integrations, reporting pipelines, AI assistants.

I care about two things that rarely come together: software that is beautiful to use, and software that is boring to operate. Everything Quant Designs ships has to be both.

On bigger projects I bring in engineers I have shipped with before. Same stack, same standards, same review.

FAQ

Questions people ask on the first call

We already built most of it with AI. Will you start over?

No. We audit what you have, keep what works, and finish the rest. Starting over is a last resort and we will tell you up front if we think it is needed.

Do you use AI to write code?

Yes, every day. It is why we are fast. The difference is that a senior engineer reviews every change, owns the architecture, and writes the tests that prove it works. A passing test suite nobody understands is not evidence of working software.

How do you quote a project?

After the first call we write a one-page scope: what we build, what "done" means, milestones, and a fixed budget at $200 / hr. If scope changes, the quote changes in writing before the work does.

What happens when the project ends?

Either your team takes it over with a written handover and a walkthrough, or we host it and keep it running for a monthly fee. Both are designed so you are never stuck with us.

Can you work with our data and compliance requirements?

Yes. We regularly build with GDPR constraints, private cloud deployments, and on-tenant models through Azure OpenAI. Tell us your constraints on the first call and we will design around them.

Can we just hire you for advice?

Absolutely. AI adoption consulting is a service on its own: we map your workflows, pick the quickest wins, and train your team. Many clients start there.

Free 30-minute call

Pick a time. Tell us what you are trying to ship.

Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. Bring the prototype, the stalled project, the spreadsheet that runs the company, or just the question "where do we start." You leave with a plan and, if it fits, a quote.

  • Book straight into the calendar, confirmation by email
  • Written scope and fixed quote within days
  • No obligation, no retainer required
